As we recently celebrated the 4th of July and our 242nd year free from the tyranny of Great Britain, we, as believers, should also celebrate and reflect on our freedom from SIN.

Just like Great Britain, sin controlled our thoughts, our emotions, and governed our behavior, as we were enemies with God, far from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise. We had no hope and lived without God in our lives.

In other words, left unchanged, in this state, we are dead; For the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23a), but what dead person needs the most (hint: it’s not a coffin)– LIFE

But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23b)

But God…

So God, in his rich and abundant mercy, loved us so much that his will, is not to see us perish but to spend eternity with him. So He gave us his Son, our Lord, and Savior Jesus Christ, and through him we received LIFE. Hallelujah!

“Therefore, stand fast my brothers and sisters in the liberty where Christ has made us FREE.”

Now sin no longer controls our thoughts, our emotions, nor does it govern our behavior. As such, we are no more enemies with God but children and joint heirs with Christ, we are no longer aliens to the commonwealth of Israel but citizens, and we are no longer strangers from the covenants of promise but partakers.

Therefore, stand fast my brothers and sisters in the liberty where Christ has made us FREE and continue to live a life that is pleasing to Him, The Higher Life.

God Bless,

A Servant of Christ
